Toyota's fix

Today Toyota announced how they're going to fix the more than 2 million
vehicles that they've recalled due to a sticking gas pedal. In
its simplest terms, those who own affected vehicles will receive a
reinforcement bar that will prevent the pedal from sticking.

The vehicles affected by the recall include:

  • Certain 2009 - 2010 RAV4
  • Certain 2009 - 2010 Corolla
  • 2009 - 2010 Matrix
  • 2005 - 2010 Avalon
  • Certain 2007 - 2010 Camry
  • 2007 - 2010 Tundra
  • Certain 2010 Highlander
  • 2008 - 2010 Sequoia

No Lexus or Scion vehicles are included in the recall.

In
addition to the massive recall, none of the affected vehicles are
currently being sold AND Toyota has actually stopped production of the
affected vehicles for the week of Feb. 1.

If you are affected by
the recall, a source within Toyota said you should wait until you
receive your dealer notification in the mail to take your car in for
the fix. But once you receive it and go in for the repair, the fix will
only take a half hour to complete.
