2015 Chicago Auto Show - Forget the Brochures - Family Fun Around Town

"Drive...He Said" attended the media preview for the 107th running of the Chicago Automotive Trade Association "Chicago Auto Show" earlier this week. It's North America's largest exhibition of cars and trucks open to the public.

At the end of the media day, we realized that our tote bag was devoid of brochures.

That's because more than ever before, this year's Chicago Auto Show is about Interactive Displays, connectivity and social media.

Pretty much every manufacturer of sporty vehicles offers a driving simulator. The wildest has to be Ford's Performance Simulator on hydraulic lifts.

Exhibits are abound with touch displays demonstrating the latest driver's assistance or connectivity technology, like the new  Apple Car Play and Android Auto. Manufacturers provide links to their websites and downloadable phone apps.

For some relaxation head over to Lexus' "Verses and Flow" music and poetry lounge.

TWITTER junkies can follow the hashtag  #CAS15, to find the latest exhibit news, share with the world, and even enter to win giveaway contests.

"Camp Jeep" is the place for indoor off-roading. We witnessed a Charger SRT8 chirp it's tires on the FIAT / Chrysler / Dodge ride-along track.  No one got that crazy on the still fun Toyota Camry Track.

Do you carry a valid driver's license and are you at least 21 year old? If so, Mazda and Toyota each will let you drive some of their latest machine on the street. The 2016 Mazda Miata,on display only in right-hand drive guise, pic.twitter.com/QhW5aR4vKp , is NOT INCLUDED.

Is anyone still really missing those cumbersome glossy print brochures that become that 10 pound barbell by the end of your Chicago Auto Show tour?
