Next Year It's Chicago

Next Year It's Chicago

There was lots of Chicago-related action at the annual Education Writers Association conference #EWA14 in Nashville this year.  First and foremost, EWA announced that the UofC would host next year's conference.  Former CPS head Arne Duncan was there, along with AFT head Randi Weingarten.  There were at least two Sun-Times journos (Dan and Kate), and at least a couple of WBEZ reporters (Linda and Becky).  Lutton and This American Life won the top honor for their Harper High stories.  Former CPS teacher Xian B. was there, along with Anthony Cody (bot no Ray Salazar this year). UofC's Caroline Grummond was there along with Shayne Evans, whom I'd never met before. Stephanie Banchero was honored for her service as a Tribune and WSJ reporter was well as an EWA Board Member. Read all about it at EWA.org or via the #ewa14 hashtag on twitter.
