What's Roland Fryer Up To Now?

Harvard economist Roland Fryer won a $500,000 MacArthur "genius" grant earlier this week, which reminded me of this memorable 2008 interview he did with Stephen Colbert about financial incentives for students (a program he tried in Chicago and New York City among other places):

The only previous education types who've won the grant are Debbie Meier and the founder of Posse (whose name I forget).  Fryer is now working with the superintendent from Houston, trying to help neighborhood schools adopt more of the characteristics of successful charter schools. Read about it in the NYT here.
