Board: Will Minutes Remain SuperSecret™?

It seems pretty unlikely given all the secrecy surrounding other things going on in the city, but there's a glimmer of hope that Chicago's notoriously secretive school board might -- might! (prolly not) -- be a little more transparent under Emanuel / Vitale / Brizard (assuming JC gets approved). What's the news?  CNC notes that outgoing Peggy Davis demonstrated that board members can actually vote against things (Consolidations Final Act of Daley's School Board). Amazing. And WBEZ notes that incoming board president is at least paying lip service to the idea of open-ness (Controversial school decisions, with little discussion in public).  Posting minutes from board meetings?  I'll believe it when I see it.

  • Yes and no. They are supposed to be release, but they won't be!
