  • I also thought that breakfast in the classroom isn't the best use of the school day. But consider the huge numbers of hungry people in Chicago who use our food banks during this great recession. A hungry child can't learn.

    Some schools have parents who won't get children to school early enough for breakfast -- that is probably not the school where James Warren's child is a student.

    So could CPS have come up with something better than a one-size-fits-all solution? Heck yeah. Can they still amend this? Why not?

  • Could have been a good program. Not a good way to implement.
