Events: Rap, Education, & The South Side

The
event, which takes place on Jan. 6, will be an open forum where
community leaders, organizations, adult educators, administrators,
teachers and students can voice their opinions about education in
Chicago's South Side neighborhood (Cornel West, Rhymefest to Lead Education Forum Boombox,Seeking Votes from Grooves to Grades On Thursday, Jan. 6, Che "Rhymefest" Smith will be on stage in a different role, as he joins Dr. Cornel West and educational leaders for the Chicago Urban Education Forum to be held at Kennedy King College at 740 W. 63rd St., U Building, Great Hall. West, 56, is a Princeton professor, philosopher,  civil rights activist, classical violinist and actor (in two "Matrix" movies) who travels the country delivering lectures and appears frequently on the Tavis Smiley show.

  • Is it just me or is this the most aggressive picture of Dr. west ever. I had hoped on attending the event but realized that it wasnt about community enlightenment but solely the promotion of Rhymefest as a politician. Which I can understand but at the same time... it couldve been an event to unite all of Chicago. Im busy trying to promote Tommy Abina in the 37th Ward for Alderman.
