Here's something you may not have heard about already:  Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC) ISACorps members headed out to CPS schools. "In what is best described as a mix between the Peace Corps and Teach for America, an initiative years in the making finally launched in 2009 that created a network of peer mentors for students from low-income first generation families in Illinois that gained them access to higher education.... The ISACorps embed themselves in communities across the state by mentoring students during high school hours, holding FAFSA completion events and getting to know their personal needs."  They have five new Corps members that will be starting this outreach work in CPS within the next couple of weeks.  Now you know.  (KnowHow2GoIllinois.org)
