The upcoming professional development workshop, "Using Drama in the Classroom for Students with Autism" (July 15-22), is specifically designed for CPS teachers who work with students affected by ASD during the school day, whether in a classroom or special education setting. Theatre artists, teaching professionals, and autism specialists will instruct on how educators can use theatre as a valuable communicative tool in the development of these students. Education and Community Outreach Chicago Children's Theatre P: 773.227.0180 Chicago Children's Theatre has committed itself to supporting Chicagoland educators create effectively interactive, experiential environments for these children's unique needs and offers activities, resources, and techniques for participants. In addition to stipends/CPDU credit, participants will receive primary access to CCT's educator programs, including discussion groups for teachers, classroom visits by teaching artists, as well as exclusive invitations to "Red Kite Roundup" (a yearly theatre production designed for young people on the Spectrum) and "Camp Red Kite", a summer program for children affected by ASD.
