Side teenager with hoop dreams killed after house party fracas
Tribune:  The
Harper High School freshman was shot in the back after a quarrel that
began over a broken window at an apartment in the 7800 block of South
Carpenter Street in the city's Gresham neighborhood, authorities said.

  • The Trib article confirms what all of the teachers on the South and West side already knew. Our children are traumatized and it does affect learning. We hurt with and for them and we do try to help make the little slice of their world that we can influence a safer and happier place to be.
