January Board Meeting

ScreenHunter_06 Jan. 22 18.49.gif

Here's the agenda for the January Board meeting that's being held today (PDF), though a slew of other issues (Keller, closings, expense accounts, car leases, $900 million deficits) are sure to come up along the way.

As you can see, Burroughs II and Transportation Academy are getting their pre-approvals rescinded. Five un-named charter schools are in NCLB school improvement.  There's a budget item for hiring an outside law firm to investigate the use of credit cards by Board staff.

Let me know if you see anything more that looks interesting, or hear of anything going on at the meeting itself.  I'll add updates as they come along.

  • Thank you CORE for attending and speaking at this Board meeting and attending ALL of the hearings. You have to give up your time and take O days to do it too! NO ONE else has come to support the schools that close/closing. thank you!

  • IG investigation needed here:The Great-West (Waste) Life Annuity Contract. CTU and CPAA are against this and RH knows why. We all will pay more $$ for savings plan as they whittle away at our pension.

  • 5 charter schools on corrective action. Next step-closure.
