  • "Those found to be responsible will face severe disciplinary action."

who was driving and using the car? duh

what a scam and shame that public officials are allowed to steal money from children without recourse. then they cover it up with the approval of an inspector general. what happened with the scott investigations? this group steals right in front of everyone with impunity.

  • Race to the Top -- Buyers Beware. Anaheim City School District Board in explaining its rejection of the MOU, the Board emphasized that although it supports many of the initiatives and principles embedded in RTTT, "ultimately the Board cited its concerns regarding the risks of signing on to a State Education Plan for RTTT that has yet to be written. This fact created many "unknowns" as to what the Board was being asked to commit to and, because the funds are one-time dollars, the Board expressed deep concerns regarding mandated, ongoing costs. While submitting an MOU would have resulted in modest funding, the RTTT requires Districts to agree to comply with all tenets of RTTT including implementing merit pay, subscribing to a narrow and restrictive set of approaches to improving low-performing schools, and the possibility of having to "repay" grant funding if all benchmarks were not "achieved."

  • I guess the cars are rewards for a job well done. A couple of days ago my child's time was wasted in an extended division where she and the other students were forced to answer a question mandated by CPS to "curb the youth violence in our schools" (quoting the division teacher). The question: If a family member needed a life-saving medication, would you steal it if you could? How stupid and irrelevant. What's that got to do with anything? I guess that's part of your program to curb the violence. Thanks, Ron. Cars well-deserved. Nothing but the best for our top thinkers!

  • If there is any one thing that all good leaders do, it is to take responsibility for everything that happens on his/her watch. I am less concerned that he had two vehicles than I am by how quickly and drastically the transporation department is being scapegoated. Scary.

  • Rip-off Ron--is responsible for having 2 cars--don't just blame transportation! Ron should have to pay CPS back for the SUV and CPS hving over $mil for rentals--rediculous. Ron, how about monitorinbg YOUR own performance!
