  • Politics / Clout City: "CPS Pres Michael Scott's Backroom Meeting at Edna's" - Posted by Ben Joravsky on Thu, Nov 19, 2009 at 5:46 PM

    http://www.chicagoreader.com/TheBlog/archives/2009/11/19/michael-scotts-backroom-meeting-at-ednas-with-arne-duncan-danny-davis-and-rickey-hendon

  • WOW WOW WOW--this video is just too much. Obama took such an untruthful person as Arne with him?! Back room deals-look how they scattered like roaches when the ligts go on.

  • Think about it. The majority of the neglected and forgot about schools in the Chicago Public School systems are in African American neighborhoods. The African American politicians and pastors have maintained the plantation politics that exist in Chicago. The former "activists" have sold out to Daly and the Machine! The pastors lay down for crumbs from Ceasar instead of being prophetic. Sad! Sad! Sad!

  • "Kiss my a--." What liars they are! Watch the video then read this!
Davis and Hendon were among the most militant-sounding critics of the closures plan. At a town-hall meeting against the Collins closing, Davis and Hendon both denounced the city's plan as racist, and emphasized their long connection to the North Lawndale neighborhood. "We're going to show them how we fight," Hendon told the cheering crowd.

Several days later, at the Chicago Board Of Education hearing, Hendon threatened to cut off funding if the Collins closure went through. "You're not going to see a penny," he told Chicago Public Schools CEO Arne Duncan.

But Hendon seems to have been sending a different message behind the scenes. Last month, neighborhood activists spotted Hendon, Davis, Duncan and CBOE President Michael Scott in a back room at Edna's. Scott is also a local real estate developer with substantial business interests in the gentrifying West Side neighborhood.

After being alerted about the gathering, reporters from a local public access show, Hood News, burst into the room, with video rolling. "Is this the sellout crew?" the reporter asked. "Is this a secret meeting about Collins High School?" Ricky Hendon told the reporters, "Kiss my ass!" while Davis went for his cell phone and called police.

  • consider the lawsuits, those that have been filed and the dozens yet to come. The choicest clip, among many, comes near the end, with Councilman and Rhee backer, Jack Evan, as arrogant bastard who cares not about the the intent of the law he is sworn to defend:

I don't believe that she overhired with the intent of firing teachers she didn't want there. I don't think that's what happened, and even if it did, so what?

  • Mayor Daley has M.O.P. tattooed on his arm... Money Over People. That's the only way he can keep his friends and family rolling in cash, illegal stolen cash.

    Chicago's red-light cameras don't always deter accidents
State, city statistics conflict over effectiveness of technology
    http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/chi-red-light-cameras-22-nov22,0,2590486.story

Let's look at Mayor Daley's Bullshit:

1: The city told us the red light cameras were installed to reduce accidents.

Now that the cameras have been installed, it has been proven that these cameras INCREASED the number of accidents at intersections they were installed at.

Let me put this in perspective: If a company came to a senior citizen living facility and sold them new bath tubs that would reduce the number of falls in the tub by older citizens and after they were installed the number of senior citizens falling in the bath tub DOUBLED... I have a feeling that the tub company would be sued so large they would go out of business and all those new bath tubs would have to be replaced.

But since the red light cameras are raking in millions of dollars, no matter how many people get critically injured or killed, Mayor Daley will keep on praising their value....

    Next:

This statement in the news story: (No U.S. city has installed more red-light cameras than Chicago)

Once again like a crack addict stealing his/her parents money, Mayor Daley could not be happy with "some" red light cameras, Daley ordered and installed more red light cameras anywhere in the world.

And you know that Mookie, Pookie and Dukie with their bullshit license plates, their bullshit temporary plates or their bullshit "rent-receipt" paper taped in the back window aren't paying these red light camera citations but the working class people of Chicago who properly register their vehicles.

    THE CONCLUSION:

So we have a product that not only INCREASES the number of people either getting injured or killed at intersections and BLEEDS the working class citizens of their cash and this Mayor is going to stand behind this product, even come up with bullshit and tampered with accident data to keep these money making red light cameras alive. UNREAL!

People are elected to office to do everything in their power to keep us safe but not this Mayor.

  • public entities, already reeling from the recession, face another fiscal crisis: billions of dollars in fees owed to UBS, Goldman Sachs and other financial giants on investment deals gone wrong.

huberman is this related to cps?

  • Over the past decade dozens of utilities, transportation agencies, and other public nonprofit entities struck so-called leaseback deals to collect cash on their assets.

Around the same time the Hoosier agreement was finalized, the IRS began cracking down on leaseback deals. The federal agency in a memorandum called them a "sham" that lacked any business purpose beyond tax evasion and amounted to a circular exchange of assets and cash.

Legally speaking, a transaction that merely reaps tax rewards and has no other economic purpose is often considered an abusive tax shelter. Although the IRS hasn't ruled on Hancock's tax breaks, U.S. District Court Judge David F. Hamilton concluded in an opinion last fall that they looked "abusive." Hancock says it believes it's entitled to the tax benefits.

    hmmm sounds familiar

  • Daley is incompetent by hiring incompetent administrators. Without expertise and vision, that sense of really working for the citizens, big dollars are wasted and given away to Daley's supporters. Why he hired Huberman, who lacks education smarts, expertise and vision, is a sad commentary on the Daley regime. Another black mark on the Daley legacy. If you have a heart problem, you call Joe the Plumber to fix it!
