Admissions Process For Elite CPS Schools Up In The Air

First, there were WAY too few spots in a very few popular CPS schools.  Then there were allegations of clout behind the "principal's pick."  Now there's no more consent decree.
This is what the Board of Education wanted.  But are the schools -- and Chicago parents -- ready for possibly dramatic changes in who gets into elite Chicago public schools?  And how should the new system be set up so that it's transparent and fair in ways that the old system never was?
