This article from Chicago Talks raises questions about not just the physical
modernization plans at Jones Prep, which were apparently too costly and
otherwise not viable, and also about the use of TIF funding and the
push to cap enrollment to 300 neighborhood students.
Should the proposed $120 million construction effort go forward? Is
TIF funding the right way to go? Should there be a cap on neighborhood
enrollment? Has Jones lived up to its original promise?
Any and all perspectives are welcome.
