Getting Fired, Getting Paid

Fired,
or thinking that you might soon be on the chopping block?  Not getting
paid what you're supposed to be getting, or worried that payroll is
going to be messed up yet again?  This is your place.

Let's start with the whole "deferred payment" thing, which is so
convoluted that one reader told me that you'd need a PhD to figure it
out.  See here(.xls).

What's your job situation, real or imagined?  What happens next in your unit or office?
Tell us what's going on this week, or catch us up on what happened before the holiday weekend.

I was a principal for CPS and worked my 35 years. As of July 1, 2009, I still recieve an esimated pension and have been told by the Chicago Teacher's Pension Fund that the data needed from the 2007-2008 school year is not available. Is this a payroll problem /People Soft or an HR problem or both. From my sources, I have been told that it could take up to another year to get the information from CPS so that the pension fund can then calculate a pension for the 2008 retirees. Now that the people in the know in the HR unit have retired or have been dropped in order to balance the budget- we have a real problem.
