In the comments section, George Schmidt says that no one's coming to the budget hearings:
nights into the Chicago Board of Education's annual budget hearings and
one of the most interesting things is how few people are paying
attention. First night at Lincoln Park High School saw 55 people there,
with a dozen speakers and people asking questions. Second night at
Finkl saw half that many. How many will be at tonight's hearing at
Harlan High School?
this because there is no interest in the budget, because it is
impossible to access now that most of it is on CD (which can't be read
at most libraries), or that cuts aren't hitting most people (special
education is taking the biggest hits this year)?"
