The Chicago Public Schools plans to add 35 new sites to
its Community Schools Initiative by the end of January, bringing the
total number of schools in the program to 150.
The state will spend $2.4 million to provide free ACT prep tests for
every public school 9th and 10th grader, officials said Tuesday, just a
few months after they launched an investigation into whether part of
the 2007 ACT exam was flawed.
Michael Vaughn, press secretary for Chicago Public
Schools, said while some individual schools within the district may be
holding events, he isn’t aware of any planned activities.
