Teachers file unfair labor charge Sun Times
Six months after payroll problems began cheating some Chicago teachers
out of timely and complete paychecks, the Chicago Teachers Union has
filed an unfair labor practice charge against the Chicago Public
Schools.

The finalists are: Jean-Claude Brizard from the New York City
Department of Education; Ingrid Carney, a deputy superintendent of
Boston schools; Tim Mains, principal of School 50; and Carlinda
Purcell, former superintendent of public schools in Montgomery, Ala.

Birdsell will replace the Rev. John P. Foley, who will become the
chairman of the Chicago-based networkÂ’s board of directors.
