The State School News Service, which I only recently heard about (thanks, VS!), urges educationistas to recognize the work of Elliot Regenstein -- and vote for Edwin Eisendrath in tomorrow's primary:
"Whatever the governor has done to rile us up - and
that would cover a multitude of sins - his appointment of Elliot as his Director
of Education Reform was something the education community should applaud...Elliot Regenstein is the antithesis of his boss. He's an honest and ethical and hard-working young man who goes farther than his job requires to include representatives of schools in the process of shaping policy and advancing, as he must, Administration policy. If not for him, for example, educators might have been left out of the loop on school consolidation.
