Chicago schools are asked to limit military recruiters' access
But at a forum held Monday by the Chicago Board of Education to field public comment on a new policy regulating recruiters' access to students, the parents and teachers had a uniform message: Pass tougher

rules to restrain the military's reach in Chicago Public Schools.

In East Garfield Park, rising school is honored
And from 2002 to 2005, the overall percentage of ISAT scores meeting or exceeding standards rose 58 points, earning Alain Locke the title of the most-improved Chicago Public School, according to the Department of Education, which plans to honor the school Tuesday.
