Apparently CTU's Marilyn Stewart is appearing before the City Council education committee tomorrow and holding a press conference to talk about the Chandler resolution -- a moratorium on school closings from this past year.
From CTU: "Thanks to the efforts of our CTU Members and the Coalition United for Education, who wrote letters and personally visited aldermanic offices, forty-four out of fifty alderpersons have signed on to sponsor this resolution. However, sponsorship is meaningless if the resolution is not brought to the full council for a vote. The City Council will meet Tuesday at 4:00, where it is hoped that the resolution will be called."
Is the resolution binding? Most aren't, but I'm not sure.
