Already, folks are talking about whether new Governor Pat Quinn will push to raise taxes in order to pay for education:

Maybe I'm missing something, but it seems hard to imagine that tax increases wouldn't go to paying for (ie, preserving) existing services rather than creating new funding for schools. I'm not against more money for schools, but just don't see how it happens now.
