Also from Chicagoist (Tag, Tag, Tag, All the Way Home), Mayor Daley announced that the city would fine the parents of juvenile
graffiti artists (if he or she lives with them) "as much as $750, or
$3000 worth of restitution, whichever is higher. In the past, the city
has notified parents three days after a violation, and even held
parents accountable for any fines associated with a guilty verdict.
Apparently, even with its war on graffiti,
it wasn't enough."
