Seventeen-year-old Precious Coffee and her Modern World History classmates at Chicago's Best Practice High School had never paid much attention to the mounting death toll in the Sudan's Darfur region before they began studying the subject of genocide. But once they began to contemplate the enormity of the human tragedy there -- an estimated 400,000 dead -- they wanted to do something, preferably something to prompt our nation's government to intervene.
