Even as parents wait to find out if their kids got into a magnet school, some of the charter schools are already going through the process. Apparently the UIC College Prep (the new Noble Street campus) held its lottery last night. There were 428 applicants for 230 seats, according to the Marshfield Tattler (UIC/Noble Lottery Tonight). Former CPS math science guru Marty Gartzman (now back at UIC) pulled the cards. Parents -- lots of them -- were given hard copies of the list to make sure their kids were there. And the process was videotaped.
