From John Ayers: "Rod Joslin, the CEO of Perspectives Charter Schools, died this morning of cancer. He had asymptomatic kidney cancer that spread quickly to his lungs. He died just two weeks after the disease was diagnosed. This tragic news has hit the new schools community quite hard. Rod had been a partner at Jenner & Block, and then opened the Chicago office of legal giant McGuire Woods, while he chaired Perspective’s board of directors as a volunteer. He became CEO of the organization when Perspectives jumped into replication efforts a couple years ago. Rod was of course married to Jeanne Nowaczewski, the director of recruitment for the Office of New Schools (ONS). Jenner partners also helped Jeanne and Rod conceptualize the Young Women’s Leadership Charter School. They have three children – the youngest child, Frank, is in third grade. He had two kids by an earlier marriage."
