Red Eye For The Teenage Set

CPS and the Tribune are teaming up to do some youth journalism, as you may recall, under the name The Mash.

It's a site for CPS high school students, and so far about 20 CPS high schools are involved -- each with 2 representatives who contribute and come in monthly to help provide ideas and content.

Is it any good? I don't know. I haven't seen a hard copy version. Does it complement student journalism already going on in CPS? Again, don't know.

The site is very good looking, and allows "shout-outs" from students to each other and their journalism teachers, mostly. There are some student opinion pieces:

Cash for Grades—Where do I apply?

Should students be required to do community service to graduate?

But it seems very light -- Red Eye for the teenage set.
