Last Year's ISATs Arrive Just About The Same Time As This Year's

As the CPS memo below details, they're getting ready for the arrival of the 2006 ISAT results and the 2007 tests at roughly the same time. How convenient.

Hopefully things will go better than last year. Remember? If not, look here.

ISAT UPDATE

ISAT 2006:   Please note that ISBE is sending individual student
reports with 2006 ISAT results to schools this week
and next for distribution to parents.  Reports are
printed with student name and the student's grade
level from last year.

In particular, be aware that students' national
percentiles (found on the last page) are based only on
the abbreviated SAT10 portion of the assessment, not
the entire assessment.

ISAT 2007:  ISAT 2007 materials are on the way.  See below for
information on tracking materials.  Sample books
should already have been received at the school and
can be found at:
http://www.isbe.net/assessment/htmls/sample_books.htm

New IMAGE sample items are now available at:
http://www.isbe.net/assessment/htmls/image_sample_books.htm

Test security guidelines can be found in New
Professional Testing Practices for Educators ISAT and
IMAGE Spring 2007, now available at:
http://www.isbe.net/assessment/default.htm.  Please
also note that ISBE and CPS will be monitoring ISAT
testing this year, so a number of schools may be
visited during the testing window.

TRACKING YOUR ISAT AND IAA TEST MATERIAL SHIPMENTS

Non- Secure test materials for the Spring 2007 ISAT
test administration have begun shipping from Pearson
Educational Measurement's distribution facility in
Iowa City, Iowa.  ISAT materials are being distributed
in two distribution waves:  Non-Secure Test Materials
and Secure Test Materials.

Non-Secure test material includes Coordinator Kits,
Student ID Labels (pre-ID), and answer documents for
grade 4-8. (Grade 3 answers are written in the actual
test booklet and therefore, a secure item.)  Shipping
has been underway since last Thursday.  Pre-ID labels
should be placed on grades 4-8 answer documents and
grade 3 test booklets after testing is completed.
Secure test material includes bulk Test Administration
Manuals, and all test booklets grade 3-8.

Note:  You will be receiving 2-sets of green and red
return labels one set in your non-secure material
shipment (within your Coordinator Kits), and one set
within your secure material shipment..  This is being
done so that you will have sufficient return labels
for returning test materials to Pearson.

TEST MATERIAL ARRIVAL ISAT test materials are being
distributed in accordance with your scheduled testing
window.  With the exception of test materials for
year-round schools, non-secure test materials will
arrive approximately two-weeks prior to your scheduled

approximately one week prior to your scheduled testing
