Laptops & Nikes For Perfect Attendance

I can't imagine a full year of perfect attendance, much less the 12 years that some CPS students have managed.  See below for details about the event honoring them tonight at the Hilton.

Hundreds of CPS Students with Perfect Attendance Honored

Nike Presents a Pair of Shoes to Every Student

            

WHO: CPS Elementary and high school graduates with perfect attendance

            Arne Duncan, CPS Chief Executive Officer

            Domingo Trujillo, Chief Officer, Office of Instruction and School Management

            Rufus Williams, Member, Chicago Board of Education

            Roxanne Ward, Member, Chicago Board of Education

            

WHAT: Awards banquet honoring students with perfect attendance.  This year Nike will provide every student with a new pair of shoes.   

WHEN: Wednesday, May 17, 6 p.m.

WHERE: Hilton Hotel

            720 S. Michigan

      

Elementary and high school students will receive awards for four to 12 years of perfect attendance.  Lap-top computers will be awarded to 23 eighth-graders, and nine twelfth-

graders with perfect attendance for their entire school career. 

      For the first time, Nike will present a new pair of shoes to every student in the Chicago Public Schools with perfect attendance. Students with 12 years of perfect attendance will design their own shoes via on-site internet technology.
