High School Reform Plan Gets Rolling

Hidden in last week's school closings fiesta was the news that CPS has awarded $4.5 million in grants to various education outfits to provide materials and support for math, science, and literacy instruction.  The program will start with 15 schools next year, and eventually grow to 48 (almost half of the high schools in the city).  Even after reprogramming current materials and PD costs, the initiative may cost well beyond what is currently available from Gates or existing budget sources.  Download hs_reform_plan_press_release.doc
