Click below to get the details for this January 10th event being organized by KOCO, Pilsen Alliance, PURE, CTU, Blocks Together, and the Southwest Youth Collaborative, among others.
But first there are regional meetings December 10th (next Wednesday) at three locations.
What they're going to accomplish, I don't know. But at least they're trying.
We are preparing a city-wide hearing on the school closures,
turnarounds and charter/contract expansion. Teachers/PSRPs, parents and
community, and students will all testify about their experiences with
these reforms. We are working with groups like KOCO,
Pilsen Alliance, PURE, CTU, Blocks Together and the Southwest Youth
Renaissance 2010 is now Renaissance 2015. By the year 2015 the city
wants to privatize 50% of the public schools. Is your school next?
On January 10th there will be a public hearing on how turnarounds,
school closures and charter/contract schools negatively impact
teachers, families, and communities.
Work together with CORE (the Caucus of Rank and File Educators),
community organizations, parents, and students to plan for this
Join us for regional planning meetings on Wednesday, December 10th.
