Gartzman Speaks His Mind

There's an interesting note from Marty Gartzman in the Tribune this week, in which Gartzman gives his take on the Tribune's articles on old textbooks from a couple of weeks ago:

"Inadequate funding for textbooks has a
ripple effect that costs Illinois taxpayers millions of dollars each
year in programs that are less effective than they otherwise might be...Our failure to provide these
core resources while demanding more accountability for student
achievement is scandalous
. It is another reason that Illinois needs
bold leadership that finally addresses the state's disgraceful
underfunding of public schools."
