Fewer Than 45 Kids? No Problem.

Updating yesterday's story on NCLB accountability loopholes:

'Achievement gap' masked in Chicago suburb

In Illinois, schools
didn't report separate group scores for almost 82,000 mostly minority
children -- or about one in seven students who took the tests. Illinois has set its cutoff at 45 students. In districts such as Bremen High School District 228, which encompasses four southwest suburban high schools, it is easy to see the effect of the group sizes.
