Following up on yesterday's Tribune editorial, the Sun Times today gives its own, similarly positive view (A wise blueprint for fixing education). You can see the Burnham Plan in all its glory here. Interestingly, it's on the A+ website -- I had thought that they were all about more money, but not necessarily about its specific uses. Maybe they think that having a popular plan for what to do will help free up some money, though at present there seems to be a stalemate as to funding sources (GRT vs income and sales taxes). Raising the charter cap and implementing merit pay and tenure reform aren't going to be easy sells, either. It'll take more than a plan some folks like to get this done.
