Education Secretary In Chicago On Thursday

Don't forget. The outgoing Secretary of Education, Margaret Spellings, just happens to be coming to Chicago on Thursday to meet with CPS chief Arne Duncan and talk about the Teacher Incentive Fund grant that Chicago has received.

Of course, Duncan and Spellings will be coy about the Obama appointment issue, with her saying that Duncan would make a fine EdSec but not wanting to interfere, etc.

Watch out for that Texas charm, Chicago reporters. [And when is that tough-minded look back at the Duncan years coming out, BTW?]

No word yet on what school will be chosen for the Thursday morning event, but it's likely to be a TIF-eligible school so let us know if you hear rumblings about where it's going to happen.
