Early Childhood Advocates Defend Blago PK Proposal

Today's ST includes a letter to the editor from local early education advocates that is basically a response to an editorial in the Tribune.  Does that mean that the Tribune declined to run the response, and that the ST was willing to run it even though it wasn't really about their coverage?

Anyway, the gist of the response is that waiting for the state to be on
better financial footing before funding universal PK is a bad idea, and
that the current system of Head Start and state PK leaves lots of folks
out. "We pay now or we pay
later. Each year we do not act, we relegate more children to a game of
''catch up'' too few can win." (We need
preschool for all kids now
