Just two weeks left of school, basically. There's a Board meeting on Wednesday, the budget is still up in the air. And there's always time for a little more youth violence. Teachers are figuring out whether to come back -- or if they've been pinkslipped. Everyone else is figuring out what they're going to do over the summer, whether it's a second job or a long vacation. Turnaround plans are -- slowly -- taking shape, though the folks at Andersen are pretty upset that LaSalle 2 doesn't seem likely to accept all or most of the current Andersen kids. Only six weeks away from the Chicago-based national conference of the American Federation of Teachers, which is picking a new president and figuring out how to how to remain relevant in Campaign 2008, having gotten snookered into endorsing Hillary Clinton early in the process.
