Catching Up With CORE

You're not alone if you're not sure what CORE is and where it fits in the balkanized world of teachers union politics in Chicago.

One of its leaders, Jackson Potter, says "We are a bit different than the other caucuses in that we haven't

defined our leadership in terms of president, vp, etc. As of now we are

willing to cooperate with CTU but we are critical of their leadership

over the issue of charter school expansion, budget deficits and

contract enforcement."
