It may be a good move for the Mayor and d
el Valle, but it seems like a loss for education proponents that he's just been named the newest City Clerk (replacing Laski) and will be leaving the statehouse. Was he in trouble down there, or any danger of losing his spot? Was he bored or frustrated at not being able to get anything big done? Does he have a worthy successor lined up?I have no idea.
From the press release: "Del Valle, a senator since 1987, will fill the unexpired term of James Laski, who resigned in February. If the appointment is confirmed by the City Council, Del Valle would take office following the Illinois General Assemblys veto session, which begins in November."
