Big Changes At TFA Chicago

Out with the old, in with the new at TFA Chicago, according to this email from John White:

"At the end of the summer, I announced that our board and I
had decided to spend the fall searching for a visionary successor to take on
the executive director role at Teach For America Chicago. I wanted you
to know that weve hired Josh Anderson to inherit this role from me in
the months to come.

"A quick word on Josh: he is a North Side native and a son of
educators. Josh attended the Francis Parker School
and then studied at the Woodrow Wilson School of Public Policy at Princeton, where he graduated summa cum laude and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. While
teaching fifth grade English and Social Studies in the South Bronx as a Teach
For America corps member, his students averaged an extraordinary two years of
growth in reading.  And now, as the director of our Midwest Recruitment
Team, he has produced record numbers of applications at both Northwestern and
the University of
Chicago.

"A note on me: Ive accepted an appointment in the
Department of Education in New York,
where Ill be the Deputy Chief Operating Officer. The chance to work
directly for Joel Klein, the chancellor of schools, and within the Bloomberg
administration, is a pretty extraordinary thing for me, and now with Josh
coming on, I couldnt be more excited about where both Teach For America Chicago and I are headed."
