Word is that John Ayers has left full-time employment at the National Association of Charter School Organizers to do some consulting work with various local and national outfits.
Before NACSA, Ayers was for many years the head of LQE, which has since merged with INCS. In 2005, Ayers famously described himself and Greg Richmond, who had recently left CPS, as Renaissance 2010 "road kill."
Depending on your point of view, Ayers is either a key figure in bringing strong charter schools to Chicago or an evil Satan who hates children and teachers. A colorful and quotable figure, either way.
