Rumor has it that CPS is padding its attendance rates by not including kids who don't show up at school -- effectively leaving out a whole bunch of kids rather than calling them absent [Update: Catalyst asked me to remove the direct link to the outside blog post, which has a dirty name. But you know how unreliable the Internet is. Those in charge say there's no truth to this one. There have been no changes to the attendance calculation in recent years, says CPS. The use of IMPACT is they only difference, they say.
