My Relationship with Cast Iron Cookware

If I put as much effort into a man as I do my cast iron skillet then I’m set for life.  Seriously!

Season and maintain your cast iron cookware and it will last you (and your family) for generations.  I think about how to keep my cookware for the long haul, and that's more than I can say about men.  I adore my authentic, heavy, well seasoned cast iron fry pans.  I baby my Le Crueset dutch ovens.  They never let me down!  Don't get me wrong, I take care of them because they feed the ones I love.  Cast iron is just sometimes worth more of the effort.  There.  I said it!

Cast iron cookware comes unseasoned, seasoned and enameled. The enameled is probably the easiest to clean but does not produce the unique flavor that develops with each use like traditional cast iron.

Lodge Cast Iron Cookware is the oldest family owned cookware foundry in America.  They know a thing or two about keeping the cookware in the family.  Now, if only they had relationship advice to make my love life last as long as a skillet...

Check out how to season and take care of your cast iron cookware here.
