OK Designer, What's Hip?

OK Designer, What's Hip?
Many of my design clients do ask (though certainly not all of them):  “What’s ‘In’?” Today I would tell them that I have seen new versions of almost all kinds of styles and so many colors.  Although I would probably not specify a kitchen of complicated dark-stained wood cabinets with brown granite countertops today... What's Wrong With This - (Old) Trend?

A blog topic to love:  Dated Interior Design Trends – OR how to use a trend Ineffectively.   I guess I will have write and focus on trends that endure or return:  like Lucite (acrylic) from the 1920’s, then to 1970’s and 80’s and back again now. With DEEP respect of James Swan and “101 Things I hate About Your House”... Read more »

My Visit to "Dwell on Design" in Los Angeles ( pt. 1)

“Dwell on Design” opened in LA this weekend and it was a truly great show.  Its huge “umbrella” includes a creative & diverse selection of “Dwell on Design” materiale.  Conventions can be overflowing, but this was just busy enough in number of exhibitors, just diverse enough in categories of exhibitors, and not too complicated to be overly stimulating in a half...
