Objects of Design: Clips from Show & Showrooms

Photos of Wonderful Design - starting with a few (teaser) photos taken at Primitive:  130 N., Jefferson St.  (Thank you for the tour, Joseph Rudy!)   The upholstered items are from their own new upholstered furniture line, and the rest of the items are from so many incredible places all over the world, plus they have a magical space centered on Buddhas.  They have a remarkable selection in a beautiful setting.   Primitive's Warehouse Sale at 1200 W. 35th St. (Chicago) continues through Oct. 15th.   I'll be checking it out myself!

(I now have to save up for a piece of sculpture at the Jefferson St. store--definitely next on my personal "acquisition" list)

Next:  The Merchandise Mart Antiques Show:  objects and accessories ranging from Judith Lieber bags (incredible) to Majolica Pottery and Bakelite beside galleries with old prints and dealers displaying extraordinary illuminated manuscripts.   I have never been able to see manuscript pages like these at a show before - only in books or museums!  Also there: vintage furniture from the 60's and 70's by Dunbar and Harvey Probber in fabulous condition.

Finally, a couple of detail pix from the windows of Artistic Tile (so CREATIVE) at the Mart.

[Disclaimer: some of the photos are not my best (ugh, I know), but I was NOT prepared to be so "Wowed" and some dealers were compliant, but not enthused, about photography...]
