A mother's beautiful, impassioned plea to Pritzker to open Illinois

This is a great open letter to Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker asking, no begging, him to open Illinois--the schools, the restaurants, businesses and more.

She writes in "Dear Gov. Pritzker, we are done."

Because of you, more restaurants are closing their doors permanently because they cannot survive another shut down.

Because of you more homes will be foreclosed. More cars repossessed. More college funds drained. Hopes and dreams lost as we remain powerless in your hands.

Because of you, another teen suicide was reported just yesterday because teens are NOT meant to be secluded, and some literally cannot handle the isolation.

Because of you, those parents must grieve a loss that never should have happened.
There's more. Get mad. Tell Pritzker he's wrecking families, businesses, children's lives and more. Maybe he'll finally get it.

  • Quite a shame that NONE of the sad repercussions she mentions will actually IMPACT many of those in the LegislativeClass who decide our fates.
    Just sad.

    That’s how.

Despite the lockdown, not a single government worker or legislator was furloughed, laid off, or lost a paycheck. Other states and cities did furlough workers, but not Chicago or IL. They all still have an income to pay bills, mortgages, etc. Not true in the private sector.

  • Because of him? No, because of the pandemic. Get real. The economy won recover until the pandemic is under control. Or did you not hear Trump's chief of staff tell Jake Tapper about not being able to control the pandemic?

  • Without these partnerships with each other and with public health and the CDC paygonline. We could not have made it this far and we will not get much further and so I express my gratitude to everyone working in public health.
