In California, the mistreatment of chicken worse than that of a fetus

In 2015, an animal rights group  released an undercover video,  exposing “apparent mistreatment of chickens at a four poultry farms in Fresno County, which prompted an investigation--of the farms.

But now California has charged two people with 15 felony counts based on their undercover videos — released through the Center for Medical Progress — showing Planned Parenthood officials discussing, among other things, harvesting and possibly even selling the organs of aborted babies.

Equivalence, we know not they name.

  • Having farming people in my family, I know for a fact that chickens are not the brightest of God's creations and given half a chance will actually injure one another to a much greater extent than human treatment. Over the years, farmers have tried to curb this militant streak by clipping beaks and claws and even putting special spectacles on chickens that act almost like blinders on horses to keep them from trying to peck and gouge one another's eyes out. This is why I find the defense of chickens somewhat absurd as they certainly do not defend one another. And yet, despite the growing evidence of ultrasound proving that the fetus is a feeling being, capable of reacting to sound, temperature change, etc....it is still not accorded status as a life. Never been able to reconcile that a driver who hits a pregnant woman with his car is guilty of two counts of vehicular manslaughter, yet that same woman could have the child aborted and no crime is committed.
