Well, that's a relief.
Actually, you still have to report the road kill to the cops if the wildlife caused $1,000 or more in damages to your car. Which pretty much would apply to every deer you hit, but not to skunks. Unless, I suppose, it costs you more than $1,00o to get the skunk stink out of your car after squashing one of those cuet little critters.
But here's the real surprise in the story: "About 26,000 deer are killed by vehicles every year, according to the [Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources]."
