This is praise for the heroic Uber driver who pulled out his concealed carry handgun to protect a crowd of people who were being fired upon by a gunman. (Details are here in the Chicago Tribune and Chicago Sun-Times.)
This, of course, has kicked off the usual round of debate over gun regulation and, more particularly concealed carry. I tend to agree with the concealed carry advocates, but the point here to praise the unnamed Uber driver who might have prevented some serious injuries or even death.
He didn't have to involve himself, but he risked his own safety and possibly life, by taking on the gunman. The driver got off six shots and hit the gunman three times, in the shin, thigh and lower back.
Too bad the driver wasn't a better shot. Maybe he should have had a bigger clip.
